🤯 Think outside the (chat)box with Magical AI

Embedded AI = productivity gains

The TLDR

Main Project: This week, we're highlighting Magical, a free AI extension for Google Chrome with next-level contextual accuracy and automation capabilities. The tools just get better and better, y’all.

Musing of the Week: The tech community has been absolutely prolific with creating new AI tools - it seems like there’s something new every day. We’re thinking about which 5-10 tools will hold a monopoly by this time next year.

Check out the free Magical Chrome extension :)

 đź’¬ Stop context-switching, start working

Magical is more than the typical Chrome extension—it was designed to be a personal sidekick, adding a layer of automation to your web experience. You can set up AI and automations, effortlessly building complex messages or accelerating repetitive tasks. It also has robust features that allow you to extract and transfer data from webpages, build spreadsheets, or fill in variables you've pre-set in your templates.

There are a lot of standalone AI tools that we love, and we've talked about many of them. However, there's something to be said for a tool that doesn't demand to be the center of where your work takes place. Magical works wherever you’re working, which is really important when research shows that it takes 9.5 minutes to get back into a task after context switching. Moreover, it shows us that the AI game moving forward isn't just about building bigger, better AI models, but also about creating more user-friendly interfaces that offer flexibility for different types of work contexts.

✍️ Key Feature 1: Text Expander

  • Set up shorthand notes that Magical auto-expands into your chosen words, phrases, or templates

    • For example: type “brb” to auto-expand to “be right back” or type “new lead” to auto-expand to your cold outreach template

    • Would be huge for anyone who takes a lot of notes or writes the same content repeatedly

đź“‹ Key Feature 2: Auto-Fill

  • Autofill forms, messages, or templates with any contact’s details

    • For example, send a LinkedIn or Instagram profile’s information straight to your CRM without any copy-pasting

    • Would be huge for anyone in Sales or Partnerships

❤️ What we love about Magical:

  • Offers a generous free tier and is currently allowing users to beta test pre-release paid tiers for free

  • Has a Teams feature, so you and your colleagues can use Magical together

  • Built with privacy in mind, and promises not to collect your keystrokes

  • Works on all websites (e.g., Gmail, Google Sheets, LinkedIn, Salesforce, Twitter, Facebook, Hubspot, etc.)

🧠 Musing of the Week

If you’ve been scrolling on LinkedIn or Instagram recently, you might have seen a bunch of iterations on the giant list of “120 Mind-blowing AI tools you MUST START USING!!!!” - and they’re always overwhelming.

Exhibit A

It’s been fun to observe the early experimental phase of technology, especially as previously impossible technological feats come to life. However, the reality is that very few of us will incorporate 120 tools, no matter how revolutionary, into our daily routines. We're closely watching the market to discern which tools will distinguish themselves in the clamor (and how they do it!).

This week, we’re reminding ourselves that learning about AI is more about mastering how to think, rather than what to think. We’re focused on finding tools that work for us, and remembering that being life-long learners is a marathon, not a sprint.

🙌 If you’re hyped about the generative AI industry specifically, here are some of the coolest roles we’ve seen this week:

🔨 Check out these other AI tools we’ve been playing with this week:

  • BeeBee AI - AI-powered insights on financial reports and earning calls for investors

  • Google Interview Warmup - Practice and perfect your interviewing in collaboration with Google's AI

  • Carbonate - AI driven webpage testing and QA

That’s all for this week. See you next Tuesday!
